This week, my sister and her kids visited our new home in Texas. Scanning through my cookbook of mom’s handwritten recipes for something to make breakfast “fancy,” I found this old recipe. I feel like Orange Julius was wildly popular when I was a kid. What happened? I had to pronounce it several times for my 7-year-old son and 9-year-old nephew, the latter of which stood by my blender, fascinated at the fact that orange juice sometimes comes in a can – and with the second batch – trying to memorize the recipe. When I coincidentally began discussing starting up this new parenting resource blog, my son urged me several times to “tell them about the orange drink!” So here it is…
6oz. can orange juice concentrate
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
10 to 12 ice cubes
Put everything in a blender and blend until well mixed. Then repeat (or double). It’s yummy!
